Introducing Gordon Holley's versatile band!
As the name implies, our band is "A Cut Above" in the Michigana area.

Our band members are educated musicians with a combined experience of over 130  years in the entertainment business, playing in big name bands on the road, backing up name entertainers at tourist night spots, performing artists in musical summer stock theater, and working in the musical education vocation.

Our band is available to play for private parties, holiday parties, wedding receptions, class reunions, or any special event your organization is planning.

I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss your plans for the future.

We rehearse twice a month on new musical arrangements I've written, or to rework numbers in preparation for a performance...All the members have a daytime professional job and look forward to playing in the band just to 'keep their chops' in shape.

Our band averages fifteen jobs per year, throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.  Performances include the Elkhart Jazz Festivals and Concerts in the Parks.

Shelly Louise Holley Cowling
Exercising her vocal chords during a rehearsal.

People who remember her mother, Sandra Louise Rozell Holley (dec. 1975), say that Shelly has some of her mother's traits and musical talents. Sandy sang and played the accordian. She and I competed against each other during a 'Tommy Keen Talent Show' at Southwestern Junior High School in Battle Creek. Sandy played the accordian ('Lady of Spain'), and I played the piano ('The Sabre Dance'). She beat me! It's hard to compete against a young lady shaking the bellows like she could...
